Anniversary Hickory Golf Event and Photos

We would like to thank the British Golf Collectors Society for travelling all the way to Furness GC. The Hickory Golf Event was such a success, a truly memorable occasion. The weather played its part too, which enabled everyone to enjoy the course, admirably presented by Adam and his team. All the memorabilia was suppled by Tony Hunt, who kept us engaged with his wonderful stories and advice on how to hit shots with these historic clubs. All dressed in the attire of the era, it was fun . . albeit a little hot, especially for the ladies! It was a shame the turnout was a little low, but maybe in the future BGCS will come again for more to enjoy, it was an occasion not to be missed. Meals were enjoyed later, thank you Chris, and also to Pam and Will running the bar. To finish the evening there were some interesting and complimentary speeches from Alyson Wood, who we must thank for all her hard work making this day happen, Carolyn Kirk (ex captain of the British Golf Collectors Society), John Pearson for a wonderful presentation and slide show about golf history and Ian Murray for his captivating talk regarding the history of Furness GC and the area. But most of all we met some lovely people and will be friends forever.
