The Fabulous Four . . . Jono, Jimmy, Brian and Chris!

The challange was set.

An early 6am start saw Brian Hurley, Jono Edwards, Jimmy Capstick and Chris Rushton set about 72 holes, all for a wonderful cause for Prostate Cancer Charity. So the Big Golf Race was off and running! How would our ‘young’ middle aged golfers fair . . . let’s see how it went.

This is Jimmy’s account:

What a fantastic day predicted. It started with Lippy cooking us sausage and egg buns accompanied with coffee. It was a privilege to play golf with three great golfers and more importantly great friends. A special thanks to the likes of Charlie Spence, Mackenzie Rushton, Jason Jefferson and Mike Fay who came to caddie for us and to all the lads that lent us spare batteries, sadly not for our highly tuned sportsman’s bodies!

Our captain Jon Clarke turned up to caddy and donated £5 for every birdie we scored in round three. A special thanks to the families and friends that came to the clubhouse after the golf finished to have a well earned drink. To the unbelievable support from FGC members, neighbours, friends as well as family, including grand kids.

The course was in great condition and the day could not have gone better, what’s not to like on our sunny Furness links! It was so much fun and at this moment in time we have raised an incredible £3,508, exceeding our £2,000 target. But if you would still like to donate follow this link or copy and paste: https://biggolfrace.prostatecanceruk.org/teams/jim-collapstick-superstars?invite=true

We have beaten our last effort from two years ago so it’s a monumental ‘thank you’ from team jimmycollapsticksuperstars. So, to everyone that has helped us . . a massive thank you.

Jimmy Capstick.

Footnote: Each year over 55,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer. So it is important to go for a check.
