An excellent performance from our Furness A team at Eden Golf Club in the lnter Club Matchplay semi-final and final.
Furness A were looking forward to interrupting Workington GC’s recent run of wins by facing them in the semi-final in the morning. It was always going to be a tight match but Furness A managed to get through winning by one hole overall. Mark Diamond and Rob Leitch for Furness GC pulled out all the stops by winning their match three up. In the second semi-final Ulverston GC beat Furness B to go through to the afternoon’s final against Furness A.
The final was a hard fought affair played in true spirit with respect and a sprinkling of humour. After 36 years Furness GC, with Rob Leitch, Mark Diamond, Captain Jon Clarke and Rob Spence, lifted the lnter Club Matchplay Champions trophy for 2025. Well done and many congratulations our gifted team of golfers, we are so proud of you.
