Visitors to Furness Golf Club are afforded a warm welcome

Visitors are welcome to Furness Golf club throughout the week and can look forward to a challenging round, followed by some of our excellent catering.

We have special packages available for groups of 8 or more, both with or without catering. If you require more information please contact the Club Secretary or Office Administrator: Julie Thompson 01229 471232. 

Office hours: Monday to Friday 9am to 1pm.

COURSE NEWS: Preferred lies are in play. Please replace divots and repair pitch marks. 

Report any balls lost to the outside course boundary. Avoid slow play. Replace divots, repair pitchmarks and leave bunkers as you find them. No carts between bunkers and greens. Observe course signage about direction of travel and restricted areas. Wear tailored trousers or shorts and collared shirts. Golf shoes of any kind not allowed in the clubhouse.

Our 2026 SUMMER GREEN FEES per round for visitors from April 1 are as follows:

Method of payment

  • Green Fees must be paid in the Secretary’s Office (at the rear of the car park). From 9am, until 1pm, Monday to Friday. Thereafter, fees should be paid at the bar.
  • All visitors must be a member of a recognised Golf Club or registered Golf Society and hold a current handicap certificate.
  • Green fees must be paid before playing the course.
  • Visitors names, their club, society and green fee must be entered in the green fee book situated by the bar access door.
  • If playing with a member, please ensure the member has signed you in.

Courtesy of the course is granted to the following:

  • Current Captains of UK Golf Clubs
  • Immediate Past Captains of UK Golf Clubs
  • Lady Captains of UK Golf Clubs
  • Immediate Past Lady Captains of UK Golf Clubs
  • Members of the Association of Golf Club Secretaries
  • Members of BIGGA
  • Members of PGA (by prior arrangement)

 

Terms and Conditions

Organisers of visiting parties are held responsible for their members and accompanying guests and should read the conditions below before booking.

All catering must be arranged by contacting the club.

Dress Rules

Course Dress Code – No jeans, denim shirts,  sleeveless shirts,  collarless shirts,  cargo pants, cargo shorts, joggers or jogger shorts of any type are not allowed on the course, which includes all practice areas.

On the course – Please avoid slow play. Please replace all divots, repair pitch marks and leave bunkers as you would hope to find them. When playing all mobile phones must be switch off or on vibrate.

Clubhouse Dress code – Dress must be tidy at all times, work apparel is not allowed. No headwear of any kind to be worn in the clubhouse. Golf shoes of any kind are not allowed in the Clubhouse except the locker rooms.
